Singtel

5.0

Singtel has been my go-to carrier for over four years now and I genuinely can't fault the network coverage. Even in the basement of Jurong Point, I get solid 4G. Customer service via the My Singtel app is responsive and hassle-free. Top-up is instant — I just tap a few buttons and my balance is loaded within seconds. Data speeds are consistently fast, and the weekend roaming bundle to Malaysia is excellent value. Highly recommend for anyone who values reliability over cheap deals. 5 stars without hesitation.

Singtel remains the gold standard for MRT tunnel coverage. I can stream music and reply to messages even between Outram Park and HarbourFront underground — something my friends on other networks can't do. The prepaid top-up via 7-Eleven and Cheers is super convenient too, no app needed. Prices are a touch higher than MVNOs but the network quality justifies it. My one complaint is that promotional offers aren't always clearly communicated. Overall a dependable choice for daily commuters who need consistent connectivity across the island.

M1's network has improved massively over the past two years. 5G coverage in the central business district is blazing fast — I regularly clock over 400 Mbps on Speedtest. Their SIM-only plans are competitively priced and the top-up experience via the M1 app is seamless. I switched from Singtel six months ago and haven't looked back. The loyalty rewards programme is a nice bonus too. Support staff at their retail stores are knowledgeable and patient. If you're a heavy data user who wants premium 5G performance without overpaying, M1 is your answer.

Circles.Life

5.0

As someone who works remotely and travels frequently within Southeast Asia, Circles.Life ticks every box. Their data rollover feature means I never waste unused GB, and the Roam-X add-on for regional travel is genuinely competitive. The app is clean, modern, and reloading credit is instant. I've referred three colleagues who are equally happy. The digital-first model means zero paperwork and eSIM activation in minutes. Support via WhatsApp is faster than most traditional telcos. Definitely the most innovative operator in Singapore right now.

Circles.Life changed the way I think about mobile plans. The fully digital experience means no queuing at a telco store ever again. Their 100GB booster deal during 11.11 was unbeatable. My only gripe is that customer support via chat can take a while to respond during peak hours — sometimes up to 30 minutes. But the value for money is undeniable. Data speeds in the CBD are solid, and I've rarely experienced congestion. Top-up is straightforward on the app. Overall a great choice for data-heavy users on a budget.

StarHub

3.0

StarHub is decent but nothing extraordinary. Coverage is fine in most parts of Singapore, but I notice drops in some HDB void decks and underground MRT stations compared to Singtel. The billing interface on their app feels a bit dated. Top-up process works, though the app occasionally crashes mid-session which is frustrating. Customer hotline wait times can stretch to 20 minutes. That said, their bundled TV and broadband packages offer real savings if you're an existing StarHub home broadband customer. Suitable for those who already use their other services.

I am not very tech-savvy but my daughter helped me switch to StarHub and I am happy with the decision. The call quality is crystal clear, which matters most to me. Top-up is easy at AXS machines — no smartphone app needed, which suits my preferences. The customer service phone line staff are patient and explain things clearly. Coverage at my Tampines flat and the nearby polyclinic is excellent. The plans could be more affordable for seniors, but overall I feel well served. Would recommend to older users who prefer traditional service touchpoints.

TPG

2.0

I tried TPG for three months drawn in by their ultra-low pricing. The price is genuinely attractive, but the network experience let me down. Indoor coverage in newer buildings near Punggol was spotty, and I had multiple dropped calls during work video conferences. The app for top-up is basic but functional. Customer support is limited — mostly an FAQ bot with slow human escalation. I eventually switched back to a mainstream operator. TPG might work if you're mainly on Wi-Fi and just need a backup SIM, but as a primary number it didn't meet my needs.
